Two charged with attempted murder after allegedly beating man who police say kicked his girlfriend


    MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Two men were arrested on Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a man who kicked his girlfriend in the head, according to a Myrtle Beach Police Department incident report.

    Police have charged Chad Lee McFalls, 31, with attempted murder, possession of cocaine and a fugitive warrant. Dustin Ross McFalls, 28, is charged with attempted murder.

    According to the report, police were dispatched to the area of 5th Avenue North and Chester Street where they found 32-year-old Artavius Donnell Cox lying on the sidewalk covered in blood with lacerations on his head.

    The alleged victim’s girlfriend told police they had gotten into an argument and he had kicked her in the face while she was bent over, the report states. Bystanders who witnessed the incident then reportedly began assaulting Cox with their hands and a blunt object.

    Christina Lynn Adcock, 32, and Preston Grigg, 52, have both been charged with accessory after the fact to a felony in connection to the incident.

    Cox was transported to the hospital for his injuries. Police have requested an arrest warrant for second-degree domestic violence, according to the report.
