Woman killed in three-vehicle crash in Darlington County

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A woman was killed in a three-vehicle accident Wednesday night on SC Highway 102 near Antioch Road, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The victim has been identified 36-year-old Amanda Hekking, Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee confirms. Hekking was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred around 9:35 p.m. Hekking’s 2001 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling southbound on SC Highway 102 when the car crossed left of center, side-swiping a 2004 Pontiac before striking a 2006 Jeep head-on. The four occupants of the Jeep were transported to the hospital, Collins says. The driver of the Pontiac, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was also transported to a local hospital.

Because the at fault driver was killed in the crash, no charges are expected to be filed.
