SC family file missing person’s report for 19-year-old son last seen Aug. 21

    IRMO, SC (WIS) –

A Richland County family is searching for their 19-year-old son who hasn’t been seen or heard from in nearly a week.

In a Facebook post written on Saturday, Elliott Dominick said his son, 19-year-old, Avery, left their home on Tuesday, Aug. 21 and has not been seen or heard from since. He was last seen on his red Trek bicycle.

The family believes he’s in the areas of Irmo, Columbia, and Lexington, but could also be in Greenville or Charleston.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department did confirm that a missing person report has been filed for Avery. The department says they do not believe he is in any danger and the extenuating circumstances did not qualify him as an endangered person.

The father’s Facebook post has been shared thousands of times across the country. Avery is described as a male, 5’9”, weighing 165 pounds, with light curly brown hair. Avery left his home by bike wearing a light gray t-shirt, jeans, and a baseball hat and had a two-toned blue and grey backpack. He left without a cell phone.

If you have any information about his whereabouts, you’re asked to call the Richland County Sheriff’s Department at 803-576-3000.
