Marijuana, ecstasy, stolen firearm found after Lake City traffic stop; 3 arrested

LAKE CITY, SC (WMBF) – Over a pound of marijuana, 4 grams of ecstasy, and a stolen firearm were found after a vehicle stop and pursuit in Lake City on Wednesday. Three people from Orangeburg were arrested.

The Lake City Police Department Community Action Team attempted to conduct the traffic stop on a silver Jaguar, and officers pursued the vehicle for about a mile before it stopped, according to a Facebook post from the LCPD.

The three occupants were taken into custody, and officers found inside the vehicle: 1.1 pounds of marijuana, 4 grams of MDMA or ecstasy, and a stolen firearm from Columbia.

Steven Jaheim Baxter, 31, originally provided a false name, Tyron Baxter, and date of birth, according to the post. The Florence County Detention Center confirmed his true name. He was charged with failure to stop, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, PWID MDMA, and giving false information to law enforcement. He is also wanted out of Pennsylvania for parole violations.

Antwan Baker, 20, is charged with possession of a stolen firearm, PWID marijuana, PWID MDMA.

Quanshay Thompson, 19, is charged with possession of a stolen firearm, PWID marijuana, PWID MDMA.

All three were booked into the Florence County Detention Center.
